Pedaling For Our Four - Pawed Friends

Pedal4Paws003_web

On December 16, 2009, JB Benna, his wife Jennifer Benna and their newly rescued dog Scooby began a 1,100 mile bike tour of California's Pacific Coast from Oregon to Mexico. Their goal is to raise money for the San Francisco SPCA as well as promote shelter pet adoption for the Holidays. ‘Tis the Season to give, be merry and help others. Its special people like you that can help!

JB and Jennifer's goal is to promote 100 nationwide adoptions and raise $5000, 100% of which will go directly to the San Francisco SPCA. Pedal for paws has joined forces with the SF/SPCA and will host an event at the San Francisco SPCA Animal shelter on December 23rd 2009. Bike enthusiasts and pet lovers can come meet JB and Jennifer and ride with them to the local SPCA, or proceed directly to the event.

Scooby1[1]

JB and Jennifer will stop in and take some time getting licked by the dogs and cats. They are asking people to bring some pet food and supplies and hopefully... inspire people to donate or adopt a new lifelong friend.

In the meantime, stay tuned and check back often for blog updates. And hey, if you are super inspired, grab your bike and join them for one mile or one hundred miles as we all band together to give the animals a second chance.

MARBLES
Today's kitty is so fantastic, she's taking over the entire weekend! Meet Marbles! This sweet and wonderful 11 year old lady was recently brought to us after her family for the last 10 years had a baby, and lost the time needed to care for her. She wasn't adjusting well to the new roommate, and would prefer to live without the chaos of young children. Don't let her age fool you - this spirited gal is happy to chase toys to entertain you, just as much as she'd like to curl up next to you and purr your worries away. And for those of you that like excess....Marbles is polydactyl - loads of extra toesies!

TED

The 31 cats of Christmas continues....
Cat number 8 is Ted, a big handsome fella looking for some snuggle time. Found as a stray on the streets of SF, he’s had just about enough of wandering alone, and is ready to settle into an indoor home with plenty of cozy couches to lay about on. He may enjoy sharing his home with another mellow kitty. He's either super serious of seriously looking for mischief. See that smirk? This guy is up to something for sure!

Not a creature was stirring.....

31 Cats of Christmas # 7

mouse
MOUSE

We bring you Mouse, a sweet love bug. He enjoys your company and may even roll over for your attention! Believe it or not, Mouse came into our shelter as a shy cat. He's really come out of his shell here but it's important to remember that (despite his outgoing appearances here)he may need time to settle into a home. That being said the ideal home for this guy is one that has a quiet and consistent environment. Mouse is just hoping that someone will give him a second chance!
